Filo de la sierra - Merlo San Luis
Se puede visitar durante todo el año. En enero y febrero hace mucho calor. La mejor época para visitarlo es de abril a octubre. Compruebe el estado de los senderos antes de ir. Hay que pagar entrada.
El sendero autoguiado Flora Autóctona lleva a los visitantes en un paseo de 45 minutos a descubrir e interpretar las plantas y árboles del parque. Guanacos es otro sendero autoguiado, pero requiere una caminata de ida y vuelta de 3 horas.
Hay otros dos senderos que requieren un guía. Farallones es una caminata de ida y vuelta de 4 horas que sube y baja grandes estructuras rojizas. Huellas del Pasado es una excursión de ida y vuelta de 2 horas por miradores a lo largo de acantilados.

The race counted as usual with 7 stages and 1030 km of route. In addition to the high finishes at Mirador del Potrero and Mirador del Sol, this edition added one more uphill finish, at Cerro El Amago.
Twenty-five teams took part in the race, three less than in the previous edition. However, the number of UCI ProTeam teams that participated increased compared to 2013, reaching 12 teams. Of these teams, Garmin Sharp and Trek Factory Racing were the ones that raced for the first time in the province of San Luis Potosí. The Continental Professional teams were 5, where again Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela participated and for the first time Team Colombia and the French team Bretagne-Séché Environnement. Four Continental teams also participated, including the local teams, and the roster was completed with four national teams.
How to get to Villa de Merlo?
Very good, a few meters down to the creek and you have pots and 2 nice waterfalls then you have to climb a good slope to reach other parts of the creek with other pots or take a path that starts easy to follow but of medium difficulty to cross the creek and then is not well marked and is lost at times to reach another waterfall that is the bad steps.

There is nothing cluttered, so visually it is very attractive. The attention of the staff is very kind, and although they suggest a tour of the complex, everyone is free to do it in their own way.
Very nice place, full of peace. There is not much to see, we thought we could visit the monastery but it is not possible. We saw it from the outside and went into the store for an alcayote candy that was spectacular. Delicious!

Spot Villa de Merlo - San Luis
San Luis conserva el aspecto tradicional de las ciudades mediterráneas del siglo XIX: vida tranquila, viejas casonas coloniales con amplios patios; pero unido a la moderna edificación situada en la zona comercial. Una de las atracciones más destacadas es el "Parque Nacional Sierra de las Quijadas", un verdadero santuario natural de gran importancia en arqueología, paleontología y geología.
A través de esta excursión de medio día podrá conocer el imponente Parque Nacional Sierra de las Quijadas . Este Parque Nacional enmarca un conjunto de formaciones geológicas con una antigüedad de 100 a 120 millones de años.
Con la excursión Circuito Serrano Grande podrá conocer más sobre San Luis, ya que hay mucho para visitar además de la ciudad. Veremos el Potrero de Los Funes, El Volcán, El Trapiche y el Dique La Florida entre otros.
